Background

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) established funding for Health IT Regional Extension Centers to provide technical assistance and disseminate best practices to support and accelerate efforts to adopt, implement, and effectively utilize health information technology. (ARRA Sec. 3012(c))

M-CEITA Mission
To provide education, outreach and technical assistance to improve the quality and value of health care delivery in our state.

M-CEITA Guiding Principles

Transparent  -  Proactively engage a diverse set of stakeholders through publically available information and standard practices

End Use Service Oriented  -  Employee a "high touch" approach tailored to assist diverse provider needs

Objective  -  Act solely in the best interests of providers served through unbiased advise on systems and services enabling meaningful   use

Innovative  -  Serve as Michigan's central entity for evidence-based HIT knowledge transfer

Collaborative  -  Coordinate activities with federal, state and local HIT initiatives and other opportunities as appropriate

Accountable  -  Meet the intent of present and future federal guidelines and legislation through enabling providers to realize the benefits of becoming meaningful users of HIT

Coordination with other Michigan ARRA HIT Initiatives

M-CEITA, as the organization representing the Regional Extension Center Initiative, coordinates with several other Michigan HIT Initiatives funded through ARRA:
